     Βανδίλοι δὲ ἀμφὶ τὴν Μαιῶτιν ᾠκημένοι λίμνην, ἐπειδὴ λιμῷ ἐπιέζοντο, ἐς Γερμανούς τε, οἳ νῦν Φράγγοι καλοῦνται, καὶ ποταμὸν Ῥῆνον ἐχώρουν, Ἀλανοὺς ἑταιρισάμενοι, Γοτθικὸν ἔθνος.

     Bandíloi dè amphì tḕn Maiôtin ōikēménoi límnēn, epeidḕ limōî epiézonto, es Germanoús te, hoì nûn Phrángoi kaloûntai, kaì potamòn Rhênon ekhṓroun, Alanoùs hetairisámenoi, Gotthikòn éthnos.
