βῆσσα

Etymology
Traditionally it has been connected with βαθύς (bathús, “deep”), as an e-grade root variant but Furnée doesn't dismiss a Pre-Greek origin and links the noun to the gloss βρῆσσαι (brêssai) found in Hesychius.
