Etymology
Either inherited from Byzantine Greek or learned borrowing from Koine Greek πείραμα (peírama, “result of experience”), from Ancient Greek πειρῶμαι (peirômai) + -μα (-ma) (see Ancient Greek πειρᾰ́ω (peirắō)), with semantic loan from English experiment.[1]
