Greek

Etymology

From Ancient Greek συγκροτέω, συγκροτῶ (sunkrotéō, sunkrotô). Morphologically, συγ- (“together”) +‎ κροτώ (“make rattling strong sound”). The association of sound, from the ancient ironmaker (striking two things together). Also ancient is the figurative meaning of "creation, formation".^[1]
