Etymology

Inherited from Proto-Yeniseian *ɟejq (pitch, conifer resin; flexible). Cognate with Yug дьик (dʲīk) and Kott čîk (resin; sulphur).

Doublet of дигим (diɣim, flexible), which is from the adjectivization of the same root.
