дори

Bulgarian
Etymology
Disputed:
- According to Mladenov, from an earlier *do že (whence Old Church Slavonic дожи (doži)) with an uncharacteristic for Bulgarian rhotacism (as in Slovene kȁr (“which, so”) < *ka že, tọ́re (“therefore”) < *to že, Serbo-Croatian jȅr (“because of”) < *je že). Accepted with reservation by Bulgarian Etymological Dictionary.
- Alternatively, perhaps a petrified case of an unattested noun *dorь.
Pronunciation
