жуй

Bulgarian

Etymology

Probably from e-vocalism of Proto-Indo-European *gew- (to curl, to coil), akin to dialectal Bulgarian гу́я (gúja, serpent) and possibly Bulgarian жу́жел (žúžel, snail). Compare dialectal Serbo-Croatian гу̀јавица (earthworm).
