Etymology 1

Ultimately derived from Proto-Turkic *köŕ (“eye”), however the morphology is uncertain, Fedotov proposes both a possible diminutive *köŕč and a third person singular possessive *köŕsi. EDAL's *köŕs is entirely baseless.[1]
