     Knjazʹ Andréj nikogdá ne slyxál sméxa Speránskovo, i étot zvónkij, tónkij smex gosudárstvennovo čelovéka stránno porazíl jevó.

• Note that слыхать has a limited usage, and in standard language is not conjugated in the present tense, future tense or imperative. It is used only as the infinitive or in the past tense:
