Etymology
From ӏуащхьэ (ʼwaśḥɛ, “mount”) + махуэ (maxʷɛ, “blessed”); hence literally, “blessed mountain, happy mountain”.[1] Cognate with Adyghe ӏуашъхьэмафэ (ʼwaŝḥɛmafɛ).
