1. (intransitive) to be Arabized, adopt Arab culture or language

     With the conquest by the Arabs of the area called Bilād al-Šām [the Levant] in the first half of the seventh century, the Jews of Syria became Arabized and, among other things, adopted for themselves the Arabic language and spoke it for hundreds of years.

2. (intransitive, military) to disguise oneself as an Arab for covert operations
