Etymology

Literally, a jackass carrying books. Calque of Arabic كَمَثَلِ ٱلْحِمَارِ يَحْمِلُ أَسْفَارًا (kamaṯali l-ḥimāri yaḥmilu ʔasfāran) (Qur'an 62:5).
