From עָלָה (alá, “grow”) + בְּ־ (b', “in”) + קָנֶה (kané, “stalk”) + אֶחָד (ekhád, “one”). From Pharaoh's dream in Genesis 41:5, wherein seven healthy ears of grain grow on one stalk.
