Etymology
From Middle Persian [Book Pahlavi needed] (DWBŠYA, ʾngpyn' /angubēn/, “honey”), from Proto-Iranian *Hangubáynah.
Cognate with Northern Kurdish hingiv, Zazaki engemin, Central Kurdish ھەنگِوین (hengiwîn) and Talysh انگوین (anqevin).
Probably not related انگ (ang, “yellowjacket”); instead related to انگم (angom, “resin”).
