بامبوزيا

• كَامْبُوزَة (kāmbūza), كَمْبُوز (kambūz), زُونِيَا (zūniyā) — unidentified Egyptian or Sudanese dialects
• جَمْبُول (jambūl), جَمْبُولَان (jambūlān), جَامْبُو (jāmbū), جَمْبُو (jambū), جَمُّون (jammūn)

From various descendants of Sanskrit जम्बुल (jambula). The most common form, here chosen as the title, is apparently thus extremely garbled by Egyptian Arabic speakers owing to the plant, requiring intense tropical conditions, growing only at scattered spots of the Arabic-speaking countries – limited-use plant names tend to be distorted, compare e.g. the forms environing Russian берескле́т (beresklét, “spindle-tree”). Going further, it has even been argued that زَنْبُوع (zanbūʕ, “pomelo”) is derived from this wanderword.
