      oġul kimdän olduġın ana bilür
      [only a] fox knows the smell of the seven valleys
      [only a] skylark knows [which] caravan passes during the night
      [only a] mother knows who [her] son is from

      if a brave man has goods as big as the lump of a black mountain, he breaks, slashes, demands, [but still] can't eat more than his fortune
