1. to shift, to change, to become different

   اَلطَّبَقَاتُ ٱلْخَارِجِيَّةُ لِلشَّمْسِ سَوْفَ تَتَوَسَّعُ وَيَتَحَوَّلُ لَوْنُهَا.

   aṭ-ṭabaqātu l-ḵārijiyyatu li-š-šamsi sawfa tatawassaʕu wayataḥawwalu lawnuhā.

   The sun's outer layers will expand and its colour will shift.

2. to become, to transform [with إِلَى (ʔilā)]

   ʔinnahā ʔusṭūratun ʕinda l-ʔamrīkiyyīna l-ʔaṣliyyīna yataḥawwalu fīhā l-bašaru ʔilā ḥayawānātin.
