  3. (obsolete) Any serious disease considered to "eat away" at the patient, not just leprosy.

      حکومت حجاج بر عراق بیست سال طول کشید. و آخرین کسی را که بکشت سعید بن جبیر بود. در آخر کار به خوره‌ی شکم مبتلا شد.
      hukūmat-i hajjāj bar irāq bīst sāl tūl kašīd. u āxarīn kasē rā ki bikušt sa'īd bin-i jabīr būd. dar āxar-i kār ba xwara-yi šikam mubtalā šud.
      Al-Hajjāj's government over Iraq lasted for twenty years, and the last person he killed was Sa'īd ibn Jabīr. In the end, he was afflicted with stomach cancer.

Etymology 2

From Middle Persian [script needed] (xwarrah, divine glory, splendour), a borrowing from Avestan 𐬓𐬀𐬭𐬆𐬥𐬀𐬵 (xᵛarənah). Doublet of فر (farr), which was inherited.
