Etymology

From Middle Persian [script needed] (dwšhym /⁠dušxēm⁠/, evil-natured). By surface analysis, دژـ (dož-) +‎ خیم (xim). Akin to Old Armenian դժխեմ (džxem), an Iranian borrowing.
