From Middle Persian [Book Pahlavi needed] (spwlyk' /spurrīg/, “entire, complete, perfect”), from Proto-Iranian *uc- + *pr̥Hnáh (“full, filled”)[1]. Compare Old Armenian սպառ (spaṙ, “completion”), an Iranian borrowing.
