Etymology
Perhaps related to طومشوق (tumşuk, tomşuk, “curved and pointed beak”), from Proto-Common Turkic *tumšuk, and to طومشرمق (domşurmak, “to feed animals in the mouth”). Likely unrelated to Turkish domuşmak (“to sulk”) and Chagatai توموشماق (“to sulk”). (This etymology is missing or incomplete. Please add to it, or discuss it at the Etymology scriptorium.)
