- a. 815, Muhammad ibn Ismail al-Bukhari, Ṣaḥīḥ al-Bukhārī:
- عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُ أَنَّهُ كَانَ يَقُولُ: لَوْ رَأَيْتُ الظِّبَاءَ بِالْمَدِينَةِ تَرْتَعُ مَا ذَعَرْتُهَا، قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: "مَا بَيْنَ لَابَتَيْهَا حَرَامٌ".
- ʕan ʔabī hurayrata raḍiya llāhu ʕanhu ʔannahu kāna yaqūlu: law raʔaytu ẓ-ẓibāʔa bi-l-madīnati tartaʕu mā ḏaʕartuhā, qāla rasūlu llāhi ṣallā llāhu ʕalayhi wasallama: "mā bayna lābatayhā ḥarāmun".
- Narrated Abu Huraira: If I saw deer grazing in Medina, I would not chase them, for Allah's Apostle said, "(Medina) is a sanctuary between its two mountains."
