مذاق • (mazâq)
- (physical) taste
- taste, preference
- 1962, Jalal Al-e-Ahmad, غربزدگی [Occidentosis: A Plague from the West]:
- غربزدگی میگویم همچون وبازدگی. و اگر به مذاق خوش آیند نیست بگوییم همچون گرمازدگی یا سرمازدگی؛ امّا نه. دستکم چیزی است در حدود سنزدگی.
- ġarb-zadegi mi-guyam ham-čun vabâ-zadegi. va agar be mazâq-e xoš âyand nist beguyim ham-čun garmâ-zadegi yâ sarmâ-zadegi; ammâ na. dast-e kam čizi ast dar hodud-e senn-zadegi.
- I say that being struck by the West ["occidentosis"] is like being struck by cholera. And if this is not in good taste [to say], let us say that it is like being struck by the heat or the cold; but no. It is at least something approximately like wheat being struck by weevils.
