    Inherited from Middle Hindi نیند (nīnd) / نید (nīd),[1] from Old Hindi نیند (nīnd /⁠nynd⁠/) / نید (nīd /⁠nyd⁠/) / نندا (nindā), from Prakrit 𑀡𑀺𑀤𑁆𑀤𑀸 (ṇiddā), from Sanskrit निद्रा (nidrā́),[2] from Proto-Indo-Iranian *nidráH.
