Etymology

Borrowed from Classical Persian پَرَنْدَه (paranda). Equivalent to پَرِنْد (parind) +‎ ـَہ (-a). First attested in c. 1645 as Middle Hindi پرندہ (prndh /⁠paranda⁠/).[1]
