Etymology
From baby talk related to Aramaic אַבָּא (ʾabbā), also found in Classical Syriac ܒܵܒܵܐ (bābā); compare Arabic بَابَا (bābā), Hebrew אַבָּא (ába). Doublet of ܐܲܒ݂ܵܐ (aḇā) which is inherited.
