Etymology
From उषस् (uṣás, “dawn”) + Proto-Indo-European *kelh₁- (“to shout, to make a noise”). Compare Old English hlōwan (“to make a noise”), Latin clāmō (“to call out”) (English claim), Ancient Greek καλέω (kaléō, “I call, summon”).
