Inherited from Sauraseni Prakrit 𑀘𑀤𑀼𑀓𑁆𑀓 (cadukka), from Sanskrit चतुष्क (catuṣka). Cognate with Bengali চক (cok), Punjabi ਚੌਕ (cauk), Nepali चोक (cok), Gujarati ચોક (cok), Odia ଚଉକ (cauka). Doublet of चतुष्क (catuṣk).
