Etymology
From Prakrit [script needed] (*trēḍḍha-, “crooked”), related to Sanskrit टेरक (ṭeraka, “squinting”) and टगर (ṭagara, “squint-eyed”), the latter whence Hindi टग्रा (ṭagrā, “cross-eyed”). Compare Marathi तेढा (teḍhā).
