Etymology
Inherited from Old Marathi 𑘞𑘻𑘚 (thoḍa), from Maharastri Prakrit 𑀣𑁄𑀅 (thoa, “a little”) + Middle Indo-Aryan -𑀟- (-ḍa-) + -𑀓- (-ka-), from Sanskrit स्तोक (stoká, “drop, dot”).[1] Cognate with Gujarati થોડું (thoḍũ), Hindi थोड़ा (thoṛā), Punjabi ਥੋੜਾ (thoṛā).
