Created on the basis of नट (naṭa, dancer) (or a similar form), a sanskritization of Pali नट (naṭa), Prakrit 𑀡𑀟 (ṇaḍa), from Sanskrit नृतु (nṛtu, dancer), from नृत् (nṛt, to dance). See there for more.
