Inherited from Sauraseni Apabhramsa णाइं (ṇāiṃ), नाइं (nāiṃ), from Sauraseni Prakrit 𑀡𑀸𑀇 (ṇāi, “knowledge”), from Sanskrit *ज्ञाति (*jñāti), from ज्ञा (jñā, “to know”) + -ति (-ti).[1][2]
