      ओ त्ये नर॒ इन्द्र॑म् ऊ॒तये॑ गु॒र् नू चि॒त् तान्त् स॒द्यो अध्व॑नो जगम्यात् ।
      दे॒वासो॑ म॒न्युं दास॑स्य श्चम्न॒न् ते न॒ आ व॑क्षन्त् सुवि॒ताय॒ वर्ण॑म् ॥
      ó tyé nára índram ūtáye gur nū́ cit tā́nt sadyó ádhvano jagamyāt.
      devā́so manyúṃ dā́sasya ścamnan té na ā́ vakṣant suvitā́ya várṇam.
      These men have come to Indra for assistance: shall he not immediately come upon these pathways?
      May the Gods quell the fury of the Dāsa, and may they lead our folk to happy fortune.
    • c. 1500 BCE – 1000 BCE, Ṛgveda 3.48.1:
      स॒द्यो ह॑ जा॒तो वृ॑ष॒भः क॒नीनः॒ प्रभ॑र्तुमाव॒दन्ध॑सः सु॒तस्य॑ ।
      सा॒धोः पि॑ब प्रतिका॒मं यथा॑ ते॒ रसा॑शिरः प्रथ॒मं सो॒म्यस्य॑ ॥
      sadyó ha jātó vṛṣabháḥ kanī́naḥ prábhartumāvadándhasaḥ sutásya.
      sādhóḥ piba pratikāmáṃ yáthā te rásāśiraḥ prathamáṃ somyásya.
      Sprung into existence at that very moment, the young Bull longed to taste the pressed-out Soma's liquor.
      Drink thou thy fill, according to thy longing, first, of the goodly mixture blent with Soma.
    • c. 700 CE – 900 CE, Bhāgavata Purāṇa 10.17.11:
      अत्र प्रविश्य गरुडो यदि मत्स्यान् स खादति ।
      सद्यः प्राणैर् वियुज्येत सत्यम् एतद् ब्रवीम्य् अहम् ॥
      atra praviśya garuḍo yadi matsyān sa khādati.
      sadyaḥ prāṇair viyujyeta satyam etad bravīmy aham.
      I say verily, that the eagle may immediately lose his life if he enters here and eats fishes.
