Inherited from Old Marathi 𑘮𑘰𑘜𑘹 (hāṇe), 𑘮𑘰𑘜𑘜𑘹 (hāṇaṇe), 𑘮𑘰𑘡𑘜𑘹 (hānaṇe). Compare Nepali हान्नु (hānnu), Odia ହାଣିବା (hāṇibā), Bengali হানা (hana), Assamese হানা (hana).
