From Pali guhā (“cave; den”), from Sanskrit गुहा (guhā, “idem”). Cognate with Old Khmer gohā, gūha, guhā; Pre-Angkorian Old Khmer guhā, guha, gūha; Angkorian Old Khmer guhā, guha, guhe; Modern Khmer គុហា (kuhiə).
