ဆိုင်းမဆင့်ဗုံမဆင့်
Burmese
Etymology
ဆိုင်း (hcuing:, “Burmese orchestra”) + မ (ma., “not”) + ဆင့် (hcang., “to summon”) + ဗုံ (bum, “double-headed drum”) + မ (ma., “not”) + ဆင့် (hcang., “to summon”), literally “without summoning (either) the drum ensemble or double-headed drums”. In Burmese drama, characters are usually introduced with musical cues, thus to show up without musical cues is to show up unannounced and suddenly.
