မေ့
Burmese
Etymology
Not given etymology by STEDT (me¹ "forget"). Luce tentatively compares Old Chinese 忘 (OC *maŋ, *maŋs, “to forget”).[1] Note, however, much stronger phonetic match (and reasonable semantic match) with Old Chinese 迷 (OC *miː, “to get lost, be confused”), which is supported by Schuessler (2007).
