Etymology

From გრილი (grili, cool) with the verb არს (ars, to be). The verb soon turned impersonal and got new screeve forms (გრილოდა (griloda), გრილოდეს (grilodes)).

  1. (impersonal) to be cool, chilly, fresh, brisk (weather), when it's less than cold and pleasantly so
    Synonym: ცივა (civa)
    ზაფხულის ბოლოს საღამოობით გრილა ხოლმე.
    zapxulis bolos saɣamoobit grila xolme.
    Late summer evenings are usually chilly.
