- c. 440 BCE, Euripides, Rhesus 690:
  ἕρπω πᾶς κατ' ἴχνος αὐτῶν. ἢ βοὴν ἐγερτέον;
  hérpō pâs kat’ íkhnos autôn. ḕ boḕn egertéon?
  Close on their track each man of you! Or must we raise a shout for aid?
