From Old Japanese.

Compound of 酒 (saka, combining form of sake, “Japanese rice wine”) +‎ 坏 (tsuki, “shallow bowl”).^[1]^[2]^[3] The tsuki changes to zuki as an instance of rendaku (連濁).
