Etymology
In a 2023 post, Sagart reconstructs *[ŋ]<r>i[t]-s in place of Baxter-Sagart (2014)'s *[ŋ]rə[t]-s, and compares it with 㓷 (yì)—which he reconstructs as *ŋ<r>[e]t-s—along with various other words relating to "cutting off" with a general base of *ŋˤVt.[1]
