Etymology
The second sense is borrowed from Japanese, where a comparison was drawn between 弾幕 (danmaku, also used to describe the type of bullet fire in "bullet hell" video games) and the presentation of comments on Niconico Douga (which was later adopted by Chinese video sites such as bilibili).
