検校

検(けん)校(ぎょう) • (kengyō) 

1. carefully examining and correcting matters; the work of doing so
2. (in particular) the clerical oversight of religious establishments
3. the head of an individual mountain temple or foundation
4. the steward of a 荘園 (shōen, “manor”)
5. an honorary court title given to highly skilled blind musicians
