焼き魚

Compound of 焼き (yaki) +‎ 魚 (sakana, “fish”). The former portion is the 連(れん)用(よう)形(けい) (ren'yōkei, “stem or continuative form”) of the verb 焼(や)く (yaku, “burn, grill”). The sakana changes to zakana as an instance of rendaku (連濁).
