• While the reading is difficult due to the manuscript being a recently-discovered (2009) palimpsest, the suggestion by P. A. Kerkhof is followed by various experts (e.g. Schuhmann and Falluomini) and so far apparently unopposed by others.
• Renders Koine Greek ἑωσφόρος (heōsphóros) from the Septuagint.
• It is not entirely clear why the expected nominative -s is missing, but compare other names attested from Ostrogothic Italy such as 𐌲𐌿𐌳𐌹𐌻𐌿𐌱 (gudilub) and 𐍅𐌹𐌻𐌾𐌰𐍂𐌹𐌸 (wiljariþ), which suggests dialectal elision.
