- verbal noun suffix: appended to stems of verbs to form the verbal noun, akin to the gerund in English
- хо́дя (hódja) + -не (-ne) → хо́дене (hódene)
- ям (jam) + -не (-ne) → я́дене (jádene)
- адмири́рам (admiríram) + -не (-ne) → адмири́ране (admirírane)
Usage notes
- Only used on imperfective verbs; perfective verbs have no verbal nouns.
- The plural is virtually always -ния (-nija), but can sometimes be -нета (-neta) for some verbs, in which case taking on a colloquial tone.
