Etymology
From Swedish Ahlberg (surname) + -ia. This genus was originally named Satsuma, but that name was already occupied by a genus of snails and was thus replaced by this name.
Coined by Austrian-Swedish entomologist and anthropologist Felix Bryk in 1946.
