  1. (Islam, historical) A group of tribespeople, living in Madinah, who gave aid and protection to the prophet Mohammad and his followers, the Muhajirun.
  2. The members of a Sufi religious movement in the Sudan, disciples of Muhammad Ahmad (1844–1885).
