Etymology
胡 (a common Vietnamese surname, SV: Hồ) + 志明 (“enlightened will”, SV: Chí Minh). It is the most well-known pseudonym of Nguyễn Sinh Cung (1890-1969), the founder and first president of the Democratic Republic of Vietnam.
