Herbaijum
Dutch
Etymology
First attested as herbadingum in the 13th century. Derived from a compound of Old Frisian Herbad (a personal name) suffixed with the collectivising suffix -ingi- and hēm (“home, settlement”). The Dutch form of the toponym was borrowed from an earlier version of the Frisian name.
